We foster positive social impact, breaking down barriers and building a brighter future for inclusive employment.
Led by our dedicated team, driven by a shared passion for making positive social change, we empower candidates and contribute to the betterment of our communities and Aotearoa.
Our story
Established in 2019, The Work Collective was born from a desire to advocate for impactful social procurement solutions for the recruitment industry.
As part of Aotearoa’s largest recruitment group, Accordant, our close relationship with the numerous entities under the Accordant umbrella allows us unparalleled insight into the New Zealand employment market across a broad range of industries and sectors.
We quickly observed that many individuals face barriers to employment, and have difficulty overcoming them due to lack of available support. These barriers can be anything from limited work experience to long term unemployment, and sometimes even unjust discrimination.
We also realised that the mix of our Accordant businesses, wide employer networks, and diverse pool of candidates means we’re uniquely positioned to address these barriers. We decided to make a positive difference by offering support and facilitating access to meaningful work opportunities.
Through our commitment to driving change, we go beyond simply doing what is right. We offer our client partners a way to achieve their social goals and outcomes, through the procurement of staffing solutions that enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion. We deliver social outcomes that benefit individuals, their whānau, communities, clients, the recruitment industry, and Aotearoa New Zealand as a whole.
Proud member of the Accordant Group
As New Zealand’s largest Recruitment Group and the only staffing supplier listed on the NZX, Accordant comprises 5 commercial entities including AWF (including Select Recruitment, a division of AWF), Madison, Absolute IT, JacksonStone & Partners and Hobson Leavy.
